John Lesher, Megan Ellison to produce Sony's 'The Seven Five' feature adaptation

John Lesher and Megan Ellison have been roped in to produce Sony's feature adaptation of 'The Seven Five', it has been revealed.

The story focuses on Michael Dowd, who was arrested in 1992 arrest for leading a ring of dirty cops for the best part of eight years between1986-1992, Deadline.com reported.

The Tiller Russell-directed and Eli Holzman-produced documentary is about one of the most corrupt police forces in 1980s New York.

Sony had won a competitive auction for the documentary rights, described as the cop version of Goodfellas.

Lesher and Ellison, and their respective companies Le Grisbi Productions and Annapurna, along with Holzman will now oversee the recruitment of the creative team on the project, which is already shaping up as a formidable heavyweight contender, for Sony production president Michael De Luca.
