Donald Glover is going to be King! The 'Atlanta' star has been roped in to play the character of 'Simba' in Jon Favreau's remake of 'Lion King', reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Favreau took to twitter and shared a picture of Donald with a caption, "I just can't wait to be king. #Simba."

He also revealed James Earl Jones will be reprising his role of Mustafa in the remake, as done in the original cartoon series.

The 'Jungle Book' director is excited to be a part of this project. He tweeted, "Excited for my next project" along with emojis of a lion and a crown.

Jeff Nathanson is writing the story of the remake, which is considered one of the pinnacles of Disney's animated movies.

Favreau, last year brought 'The Jungle Book' to life and though 'The Lion King' won't be a live-action film, but it will look like it.

On a related note, Glover will next be seen playing the role of Lando Calrissian in the young Han Salo 'Star Wars' spinoff.
