Josh Lalor's juggling catch leaves cricketing world in spin

Sydney Thunder paceman Josh Lalor's juggling effort on the boundary during the Big Bash league clash against the Melbourne Stars sparked off controversy as Cameron White was given out for what was allegedly a 'six'.

As Cameron smashed off-spinner Nathan Haurtiz to the boundary, Lalor caught the ball while backing over the boundary rope to throw the ball back into the air. Subsequently, he reclaimed the ball while in mid-air before stepping his feet back inside the field of play, News.com.au reported.

According to the MCC's laws of cricket, if he is the first fielder to touch it after it has been struck by the bat, to make the catch he must have some contact with the ground within the boundary (and none on or beyond it) or have jumped up from such a position.

However, Cameron was seen unimpressed with the decision to give him out as he walked off the field shaking his head, the report added.

Eventually, Melbourne Starts cruised to victory over Sydney Thunders with six overs to spare.
