The largest bank in the US and sixth largest in the world, JPMorgan, and several other banks could be the latest target of hackers.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is investigating a data breach into top-notch banks, which signals a possible hackers' attack.

The investigation began earlier this month. It's believed the breach may have been caused by hackers injecting malware into a JPMorgan employee's personal computer. It's possible that between two and five US banks have been affected, CNET reported.

However, banks have long been a target for cybercriminals. JPMorgan spokesperson Trish Wexler said that financial services are in a constant battle with hackers.

She added that companies of their size experience cyber attacks nearly every day, and they have multiple layers of defense to counteract any threat and constantly monitor fraud levels.
