Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata, who will be out of contract at the end of 2017-18 season, has expressed his desire to stay at the Old Trafford club beyond that.

The 28-year-old, who joined United from Chelsea in 2014, insisted that he is currently enjoying his time with the club and is looking forward to bring many more trophies with the Jose Mourinho-led side in the coming future.

"I have two years left on my contract and I would like to stay beyond that. I am happy here and obviously since I came we have won the FA Cup, Community Shield and now we have another chance to win a trophy," goal.com quoted Mata as saying.

The Spain international, who faced an uncertain future in United having been sold by manager Mourinho during the pair's time at Stamford Bridge, has made more than 100 appearances and won the FA Cup and Community Shield with the side.

"I am thinking that the fans are amazing here even in the bad moments so I am thinking what happens if we win the Premier League or Champions League in the future years it will be incredible to celebrate them so I have that in my head," he added.

Mata can add another trophy to his account when United will take on Southampton in the EFL Cup Trophy final at Wembley later today.
