Cricket fans in Varanasi celebrated Team India's fifth straight win in the 2015 World Cup by smearing colours on each other and bursting crackers.
"We are celebrating the historical victory of team India winning from 8 wickets over Ireland. We congratulate M.S. Dhoni for his success and will wish for further victory in the final World Cup match as well," said a cricket fan.
Another fan reiterated the hope of cricket lovers for India's second straight World Cup win.
"We will wish India to bring the world cup this year as well like in 2011," said another fan.
Team India defeated Ireland by eight wickets in a Pool B cricket World Cup match at Seddon Park, in Hamilton on Tuesday.
At the end of the match, Captain of the Indian Cricket team, Virat Kohli (44 not out) and another team member, Ajinkya Rahane (33 not out) took their team to victory with 13.1 overs to spare.
President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal extended their greetings to the Men in Blue.
