Julia Louis-Dreyfus has breast cancer! The Emmy winner announced the devastating news on her official Twitter account.
"Just when you thought...," Louis-Dreyfus captioned the post alongside a note.
In her official statement, the actress wrote, "1 in 8 women get breast cancer. Today, I'm the one."
She continued, "The good news is that I have the most glorious group of supportive and caring friends, and fantastic insurance through my union."
"The bad news is that not all women are so lucky, so let's fight all cancers and make universal health care a reality," the 56-year-old actress concluded.
The 'Veep' star set a record earlier this month, when she won her sixth consecutive Emmy for her role as former VP-turned-president Selina Meyer for the same series on the hit HBO comedy.
Louis-Dreyfus is married to 'Saturday Night Live' comedian Brad Hall since 1987. They have two sons together, Henry and Charles.
