Jung acting as an instrument of BJP: Yogendra Yadav

ANI New Delhi [India]

Terming the ongoing tussle between Najeeb Jung and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as tragic, rebel AAP leader and now Swaraj Abhiyan crusader Yogendra Yadav alleged the Lieutenant Governor is acting as an instrument of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the real victims in this perceived confrontation between the Delhi Government and the Centre are the common people of the national capital.

"This entire thing is so tragic. The people of Delhi are the victims of the game being played by both the Aam Aadmi (Party) Government and the BJP via the LG. No doubt the LG acts as the instrument of the Central Government and very often of the BJP," Yadav told ANI.

He alleged the AAP uses the Centre's interference as a way to shield itself from its own wrong doings.

"At the same time the Aam Aadmi (Party) Government in Delhi wants to use it (Centre's interference) to shield all the wrong doings and non- doings," he said.

Taking a jibe at the AAP's slogan which says "wo pareshaan karte rahein, hum kaam karte rahein" (they trouble us, but we continued with our work), Yadav said there slogan should be "wo pareshan karte rahe aur ye chugli karte rahe" (they troubled us and we kept complaining).

The Lieutenant Governor has ordered the transfer of several senior officials engaged in flagship projects of the AAP Government which prompted Kejriwal to accuse Prime Minister Narendra Modi of being behind this.

This is the first major administrative reshuffle ordered by Jung following a Delhi High Court ruling that the Lt Governor is the administrative head of the national capital.

Jung has replaced Health Secretary Tarun Seem with IAS officer Chandrakar Bharti, while Ashwani Kumar has been appointed as new PWD Secretary in place of non-IAS cadre office Sarvagya Srivastava.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had requested Jung not to transfer Seem and Srivastava as they were handling flagship projects - setting up of mohalla clinics and construction of new school buildings - of the Kejriwal government.
