Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung on Tuesday said the state government is committed to work on the foundation of transparency and will bring Jan Lokpal Bill to end corruption in the national capital.

He also called for the Delhi Police and Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to be brought under the state government.

Jung said the people of the national capital have given the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) a huge mandate to govern the city, adding that such a clear mandate is 'conducive' for development.

"People have given a huge mandate, a clear mandate and that is very conducive to development. Services have to be given to people with full honesty and services need to reach everyone," Jung said while addressing the Delhi assembly.

He further stressed on the issues that the government must focus on for the betterment of Delhi.

"My government wants to work on the foundation of transparency. My government wants full statehood for Delhi, as people of Delhi have wanted this for long. Women safety is essential, and fast track courts need to be in action for them and for the youth," Jung said.

"Delhi needs to be made a digital capital, Wi-Fi enabled. Government will construct new heath centres and beds for maternity use shall be increased," he added.
