Justin Bieber has been charged with assault for allegedly hitting a limousine driver on the back of the head several times in Toronto. he 19-year-old singer surrendered to police on Wednesday and is due in court on March 10, the BBC reported.
Bieber's lawyer Howard Weitzman in California said that his client was innocent and that he expected the case to be treated as a summary offence, which is the equivalent of a misdemeanor in the United States.
According to Toronto police, in Decemeber, the car had picked Bieber and five companions from a nightclub and began driving them back when the singer and the driver said to have begun arguing.
The driver is said to have stopped the car and called the police, after which the suspect immediately fled.
