Jwala's name missing from voters' list: Final report sought

The Chief Electoral Officer of Telangana, Rajat Kumar said that the final report has been sought from the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) after badminton player Jwala Gutta's name went missing from the electoral roll.

Ace shuttler Jwala Gutta's was utterly dismayed on finding that her name was missing from the voters' list when she went to cast her vote in the Telangana Assembly polls on Friday.

Jwala claimed that her name was in the rolls when she checked it online about 2-3 weeks ago while asserting that she is the resident of the same place since the last 12 years.

"I checked my name online two-three weeks ago, it was there with that of my mother but names of my father and sister were missing. Today we went to cast vote but my name was also missing. I don't understand how my name was missing. I've been living here for 12 yrs," said Jwala Gutta.

 

The concerned polling station is at Banjara Hills in the Hyderabad. The counting of votes will take place on 11 December.
