K. Kavitha, Member of Parliament (MP) from Nizamabad, Telangana has defended her father and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's statements regarding adverse media about the state.
Speaking to ANI, Kavitha blamed the statements on bad translations. She said, "Unfortunately, national media channels didn't get the translations right. They should hire better translators."
As far as the two Telugu channels, which her father had gotten blacked out were concerned, she said, "These two channels used unparliamentary language. Our Chief Minister just wants the media to respect Telangana and our culture. One or two media houses were putting our self-respect at stake. It is obvious that he wouldn't take it."
Popularly known as 'KCR', Rao had earlier on Wednesday said, "Those who insult Telangana, its existence and prestige, will be buried ten feet under the earth," allegedly targeting the media.
