Former Karnataka Chief Minister and senior congress leader B.S. Yeddyurappa expressed his sadness over the murder of esteem literary scholar M.M Kalburgi and described it as a great loss to the nation.
Yeddyurappa told ANI, "It is a big loss not only to the state, but also to the country. Culprits should be punished. He was a great man and has given a lot to the country. I request the state government to find out the culprits and punish them."
Kalburgi was shot at close range by two assailants at his home in Dharwad, Karnataka. He was declared brought dead by doctors at the city hospital.
Hubli Police Commissioner, Ravindra said police are looking at different aspects of the case with an open mind.
