A video showing a private coaching centre teacher beating students mercilessly has gone viral.
The teacher, identified as Pradeep Arora, is also the owner of the Eponymous Coaching Centre.
A student secretly filmed Arora on his mobile while he slapped school students, grabbed girls by their hair and hit students with sticks.
The video shows an unperturbed Arora beating a boy, even as he writhes in pain.
His reasons for assaulting students included unfinished homework, coming late to class and poor scores in tests.
Arora has been booked under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.

"A news channel showed a video footage of a coaching centre teacher beating school students. This is a cognizable offence. We have registered a case on the basis of news report. Investigation is going on in the case and once the truth is known we will investigate accordingly," said Karnal's Superintendent of Police Pankaj Nain.
However, no formal complaint has been filed by any of the students or their parents so far.
Arora, a retired Indian Navy officer, has been running the coaching centre since 1999.
He said that parents of the students had given him a free hand to ensure that their children did well in school.
"Many parents come here saying give any punishment, we want results as you are from the defence. Parents want to send their children outside, they need to be trained. Then, in those cases, we try to be stricter in terms of teaching them discipline," claimed Arora.
