Ashwin Rao, the son of Karnataka Lokayukta Justice V. Bhaskar Rao, has been sent to SIT custody till August 6.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) had yesterday arrested Ashwin Rao in Andhra Pradesh's Ranga Reddy district, in connection with a bribery case.
The Karnataka Lokayukta police had on July 1 registered an FIR against him, who was accused of being a part of an extortion racket.
The members of the racket used to contact contractors and builders posing as Lokayukta officials and demand money.
