A wildfire was reported in Karadimatti and Kucchalu Reserve Forest of Thirthahalli Taluk of Karnataka on Monday.
Forest officials doused and quenched the fire with villagers. The fire spread over an area of 50 acres.
The district lies in the Western Ghats region, moreover, the forest type is moist deciduous is vulnerable during summer.
This fire comes two days after a major fire that broke out in the Bandipur Tiger Reserve and National Park in Chamarajanagar District on Saturday.
Reportedly, hundreds of acres of forest area have been destroyed in the fire which has spread to the core area also. However, with fire spreading to the core forest area, huge damage and loss to the wildlife are also expected.
