Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Sambit Patra on Friday said that the apparent "googly" played by Pakistan on Kartarpur corridor matter has exposed the Prime Minister Imran Khan-led Pakistani government.
Speaking to the media here, Patra said, "The usage of words like googly has exposed Pakistan. For us it is not a googly. Congress is so insensitive that it is doing politics on (Punjab Minister Navjot Singh) Sidhu's faith. They could not even include the Kartarpur village in India at the time of partition."
Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the Foreign Minister of Pakistan, earlier claimed that Prime Minister Khan has "bowled a googly at India by opening the Kartarpur corridor". He made these remarks at a ceremony held in Islamabad to observe the 100-day performance of the Imran Khan-led Pakistani government.
"Bowling a googly" in cricketing terms means making a deceptive delivery to put the batsman in a difficult position.
Patra further hit out at Congress president Rahul Gandhi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for sharing the stage during the farmers' protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar. "Rahul Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal at the same stage mean that drama and confusion are sharing a stage. People of this country have rejected them and so there is no point of them in joining hands," said BJP spokesperson.
Besides Gandhi and Kejriwal, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah, CPI (M) leader Sitaram Yechury, veteran politician Sharad Yadav also shared the stage at the farmers' protest and attacked the central government over various issues.
