Tamil Nadu Pradesh Congress Committee president E V K S Elangovan on Thursday expressed his irritation towards the latest controversy stirred up by former union minister P Chidambaram's son, Karthi, stating that the latter is free to join the Aam Aadmi Party.
Elangovan was reacting to tweets by Karthi, where he had praised AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal.
"If he needs a leader like Kejriwal, why should he seek him elsewhere? He can join the AAP. Apart from that, I don't want to comment on his statements. Sometimes he says many things which are against the party. I think the party high command should look into this and take action," Elangovan told the media.
Karthi had earlier tweeted that the Congress should learn from the handling of the Delhi elections by the AAP, pointing out the Tamil Nadu unit in particular as needing 'lessons'.
"Congrats #AAP on a fabulous win. Many lessons to learn for the Congress particularly for us in the #TNCC. Need a face n an agenda. Will we?" he had posted
"Lessons from #AAPSweep, no one is invincible, state politics needs a credible leader n an agenda. People want leadership at their doorstep," he added.
