Dimuth Karunaratne scored an unbeaten century as Sri Lanka were 250-2 at stumps on the opening day of the first Test against West Indies in Galle on Wednesday.
Opting to bat first, Sri Lanka lost Kaushal Silva and Lahiru Thirimanne on their respective scores of 17 and 16.
Left-hander Karunaratne clobbered 10 fours and one six in his unbeaten 135-run knock and found an able ally in Dinesh Chandimal (72 not out) as the duo struck an unbeaten 149-run solid stand for the third wicket on a slow pitch.
West Indies were sloppy in their fielding, while Kemar Roach and Devendra Bishoo claimed a wicket apiece.
