Residents of Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir pressed for such politicians in the upcoming 2014 general elections who can address the
issues of corruption and inflation.
"We wish to have an understanding candidate . Electricity, water, petrol, diesel everything is so costly. No one listens to the poor people. We want to vote for a candidate who can understand our probems," said a resident, Surinder Kumar.
Such problems have been prevalent throughout the country and created a mess out of people's lives. Rising prices of essential commodities especially vegetables and fruits, was the main issue of anger amongst the masses.
Another resident wished for a government that can curb corruption and price rise.
"The biggest issue is that of corruption. Without bribe no work is done in any office. No file moves forward without money being paid . The second issue is that of price rise. Every other day there is a hike in the price of petrol and diesel, which increases the prices of food items. We want a government that can control corruption and inflation,"said a resident, Anoop Vadiya.
