A youth was killed today in Kulgam district of South Kashmir as police forces opened fire on anti-Israel protesters on Saturday.
The police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel also fired tear gas to disperse the crowd thereby injuring three others.
Suhail Ahmed who died in the firing had sustained severe bullet injuries. He belonged to Mishripora in Kulgam and was immediately shifted to Janglat Mandi hospital in Anantnag district where he succumbed to his injuries.
India has been witnessing a series of anti-Israel protests against its attacks on Gaza.
The offensive launched by Israel on July 9 on the Gaza strip has already claimed the lives of 220 civilians in Palestine. According to a UN estimate, about 1,370 homes have been destroyed in Gaza and more than 18,000 people have been displaced in the conflict.
