Kashmiri girls undergo self-defence training

Girls from 17 border towns in Jammu and Kashmir recently participated in a Durga Vahini camp, a self defence and personality development exercise, to boost their self confidence and combat readiness against rising terror attacks.

The girls were trained in karate, stick fighting and in the handling of air guns. They were given sessions on how to tackle militancy smartly in the region.

Girls from border areas like Rajouri and Kathua where militant attacks are frequent said that the situation in the region was petrifying and the defence training has made them confident to battle the contingency in the region.
