Kate Winslet reveals why Brits do so well in Hollywood

English actors have an accidental advantage in Hollywood because their accent hoodwinks moviemakers into believing they know what they are doing, according to Berkshire-born Kate Winslet.

The 40-year-old Oscar-winning star said "When you are an English actor and you go into another country," adding "They automatically assume you are fully trained . Which I've played on, believe me," the Independent reported.

Since Charlie Chaplin and a certain Stanley Jefferson (later known as Stan Laurel) arrived on the same ship, as part of the same British music-hall troupe in 1910, British performers have been trying their luck in America. Now, it seems, the Brits are everywhere, on big and small screen, even playing America's greatest heroes.
