Hollywood actress Kate Winslet, who will be next seen in 'The Mountain between Us', has revealed that she does not care about other people's opinions and can't conform to expectations.
The 42-year-old actress also shared that she was very lucky to be in a position where she doesn't have to fit in to the society's expectations, reports Contactmusic.
In an interview, Winslet said, "I just can't do the conforming thing at all in life. I am not the kind of person who lives by other people's judgements and opinions. I dance to the beat of my own drum."
"It's important for humanity and I am lucky that I can do that. There are many young women in the world who are so fragile emotionally and who don't believe in themselves."
The 'Revolutionary Road' star admitted that it can be really hard for the youth to be true to themselves, because 'today's society has become so judgemental.'
She noted, "In life, the most important thing is to be true to yourself. And it's hard to do that, because we live in an incredibly judgemental world. Particularly in the world of celebrity, it's unbelievably judgemental. It does actually make me sad. Wouldn't it be nice if we could all be exactly as we really are and not have to think for two seconds about what we are saying or wearing or what we are doing? Just be free and ourselves."
It should be noted that Kate Winslet can currently be seen 'The Mountains between Us' alongside Idris Elba.
The movie has opened to mixed reviews in the U.S.
