Nepal's capital Kathmandu on Thursday evening was illuminated with lights, as it observed the second biggest festival, Tihar's third day.
The third day of Tihar, where people worship the Goddess of Wealth Laxmi, sees lights in all the nooks and corners of the house.
"In Hindu religion, people stay awaken during the night and worship the lord of wealth and prosperity," told Rashmi Karki, a devotee, to ANI.
As per the beliefs, Goddess Laxmi showers wealth and blessings to those who stay awake all night and do not let the lamp in the worship place extinguish.
