Katie Couric is reportedly said to quit ABC News to join Marissa Mayer led Yahoo's team.

The American television journalist is parting ways with the news network ahead of her previous schedule.

According to Huffington Post, Curic joined ABC News in 2011, and sources reveal that the opportunity to work with Yahoo was something she 'couldn't pass up' because of the powerful association between the news network and the internet giant.

A source close to Couric's discussions with Yahoo revealed that no deal has been finalized.

The report added that Couric's syndicated talk show, which she launched as part of a broader deal with ABC's parent company Disney, might end if it did not fit with her personal vision.
