Kazakhstan lauds India's role in global, regional sphere

The nation has appreciated India's contribution towards promoting peace and stability

Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev has noted the importance and role of New Delhi in regional and global affairs and appreciated its contribution towards promoting peace and stability as well as the positive influence of the rapidly growing economy of India on the world economy.

"In this, President Nazarbayev sees a special role of the Indian leader in inspiring global confidence in India," said a joint statement issued after the talks.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi highly appreciated the initiative of President Nazarbayev on institutionalisation of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), which has emerged as an important organisation for strengthening peace, stability and security in Asia.

 

He noted Kazakhstan's efforts on transformation of the CICA to the Organisation on Security and Development in Asia.

President Nazarbayev expressed gratitude for India's continued support of CICA's activities and contribution to the conference.

He also appreciated India's active support to various international initiatives of Kazakhstan, including Expo-2017.
