Keanu Reeves is set to star in yet another sci-fi movie titled 'Replicas.'
The 50-year-old 'The Matrix' star would take on the role of a neuroscientist in the Lotus Entertainment and di Bonaventura Pictures project, which would be helmed by Tanya Wexler, the Hollywood Reporter reported.
The screenplay, which was penned by Chad St. John, focuses on the daring neuroscientist, who desperately tries to bring his family back after they are killed in a car accident, even if it means pitting himself against a government-controlled laboratory, a police task force and the physical laws of science.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura would be producing the film with Fundamental Films, Stephen Hamel and Reeves, who had also developed the script based on Hamel's treatment.
Lotus' Bill Johnson and Jim Seibel said that Reeves had had a lot of success in the sci-fi genre, and they were excited to have him on board, while di Bonaventura added the 'John Wick' actor had the ability to bring a genuine level of humanity to the sci-fi genre.
The production is scheduled to begin in spring 2015.
