In the aftermath of Thursday's Garissa University College attack, Kenyan jets have pounded militant group Al Shabab's positions in the neighbouring Somalia.
Kenyan army spokesman David Obonyo said that the warplanes targeted two camps in the remote Gedo region, which are used by the militants to cross into Kenya, in order to respond to threats, reported the BBC.
While conceding that two camps had been destroyed, the spokesman added that the bombings were a part of the ongoing process and engagement against Al Shabab which will go on.
The attack is Kenya's first response to Thursday's attack by Al Shabab militants that left 148 people dead at Garissa University College.
It came after President Uhuru Kenyatta vowed to respond to the attack "in the severest way possible."
Eyewitnesses however, claimed that the attacks had injured three civilians, destroyed livestock and wells in an area that was not occupied by Al Shabab militants.
