All hostages held in an attack on an upscale shopping mall in Nairobi have been evacuated and special forces are not encountering any resistance, a government spokesperson has said.
He said the three-day-long siege by Islamist gunmen, which has left at least 68 dead and up to 200 injured, was nearing the end, news24 reports.
Government spokesperson Manoah Esipisu said that everyone has been evacuated, but the special forces was doing its job to assure if everyone was safe.
He said that at the moment the forces have not met any resistance, but of course they are not ruling out the possibility that there are a couple of them hiding in a remote room or corner.
