Khattar Govt. in dock as rape case filed against GMC's Dy Mayor

In what may further embarrass the Manohar Lal Khattar-led BJP Government in Haryana, a 40-year-old widow has lodged a rape case against Gurgaon Municipal Corporation's Deputy Mayor Parminder Katariya.

The case, which has been registered in the Women Police station of Sector 51, is under investigation.

Katariya, who was allegedly involved in an illicit relationship with the woman from the past six months, promised to marry her.

In an alleged disagreement between the two on the issue, the woman threatened to lodge a police complaint after which she got life threatening calls from three unknown people.

A case has also been registered against the three.

 

Recently, the Khattar Government faced a similar crisis when rape charges were filed against BJP MLA Umesh Agarwal by a 30-year-old woman.

The woman had in her complaint alleged that Agarwal and his friend Sandeep Luthra raped her at a hotel in Faridabad on January 3. Another accomplice of Agarwal, Rekha Suri, had abetted the crime, the complainant had told the police in her initial statement.
