Kishtwar District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ghulam Nabi Balwan on Monday convened a meeting to review the arrangements for upcoming Republic Day celebrations.
It was decided in the meeting that the main event shall be organised at Chowgan Ground Kishtwar where the flag hoisting ceremony would be held followed by march past by contingents drawn from JKP, JKAP, CRPF, FPF, students from various educational institutions and cultural programmes.
The DDC directed the concerned departments to make coordinated efforts and put in place all necessary arrangements for successful celebration of the national event in the district. He asked the concerned departments to ensure proper arrangements for security, traffic management, sanitation, medi-care besides other services.
DDC also constituted various committees for making all necessary arrangements for the event; ACR, ACD, Tehsildar besides few other officers were designated as Nodal Officer to oversee the preparations for the function.
It was decided that rehearsals shall start from January, 10 and full dress rehearsal will be held on January 24, 2017.
SSP Kishtwar Sunil Wazir, CPO Kishtwar Yasir Balwan, ACD Garbhi Dar, Tehsildar Kishtwar, CEO, CMO, besides others district officers besides representatives of Army and CRPF attended the meeting.
