New Zealand can reportedly pose as a genuine contender to win next year's ODI World Cup if they win their clash against Sri Lanka, which would lead them to qualify for the World Twenty20 semifinals.

Although good overs by the New Zealand bowlers have reportedly been undone by the last ball going for six or good partnerships broken by a poor shot, they have the ability to win tournaments and their clash against Sri Lanka will show if they have the 'brains and bottles' to match.

According to Stuff.co.nz, Zew Zealand opening batsman Kane Williamson said that a player just needs to enjoy a cricket match as it is one of those occasions that, if a player lets go and express himself, he can play really well.

However, Williamson added that if a player tightens up, it could be harder than it needs to be, in terms of putting pressure on themselves.

Williamson also said that if a player can relax and play and allow his game come 'out of its shell', that would go a long way to producing the required complete performance.

New Zealand face Sri Lanka on March 31 in their World T20 clash, the report added.
