Kolkata institute contributes towards Jammu and Kashmir flood victims

Faculty and staff of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Kolkata (IISER) have responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal to contribute funds for victims of the floods in Jammu and Kashmir by making a contribution of one day of their salary.

In their letter sent along with a draft of Rs. 3, 63,592/-, they said they are moved by the appeal of the Prime Minister to contribute to the PM National Relief Fund, posted on the PIB website-http://pib.nic.in/newsite/printrelease.aspx on September 12,2014.

Several lakh persons were affected by the floods in September last year.
