Irate parents held a massive protest outside a private all-girls school in Kolkata against the alleged sexual harassment of a class one student.
Raising slogans against the authorities, the protesters asked the school principal to come out and talk to them about the incident.
"We have heard that a class-1 child has been sexually harassed, but the principal is not telling us anything. We are demanding that as it's a girl's school, so there should be some security. But, there is no such thing. We are here for the past three hours, but the principal has neither come out nor talked to us. He is sitting inside and not telling us anything," said a protesting parent.
The minor was allegedly molested by the school bus driver who followed her to the washroom during the annual function practice. The girl is said to be in a hospital now.
Protesters, meanwhile, lashed out at the police for deploying security during the protest and not when the incident had happened. They also sought to know whether an FIR had been lodged in the case.
