Manchester United captain Vincent Kompany has said that he expects more teams to challenge the Premier League champions for the top position, despite only arch rivals Manchester City being United's challengers last season.

Stating that the top of the table could get crowded as other teams get stronger, Kompany said that he has seen every single club strengthen every season, adding that teams can come from nowhere and win the league, The Sun reports.

According to the Belgian footballer, already United is facing threats from clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal, adding that Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and even Everton cannot be ruled out as they had given good performances this year.

However, Kompany also said that there is a chance to strengthen their team and compete again for the league.

Meanwhile, Kompany has urged Manchester City to splash out for a Premier League title race that will involve seven teams.
