New Zealand rugby player Konrad Hurrell has reportedly been fined 5000 dollars and will undergo counselling after a video showing him involved in a sex act appeared on social media.

The video, taken on a phone while driving and showing Hurrell involved in an act with New Zealand TV actress Teuila Blakely, was released on Instagram recently, following which an investigation was launched by his team New Zealand Warriors and the National Rugby League (NRL).

According to Stuff.co.nz, the Warriors later released a statement which said 22-year-old Hurrell is 'full of remorse' and had apologised to the club, with chief executive Wayne Scurrah saying that although the incident involved two consenting adults, Hurrell's action in sharing the content with others was unacceptable and inappropriate.

Scurrah further said that although Hurrell has attended social media seminars and workshops conducted by the NRL, he made a poor choice as the matter brought unwanted focus on the club and the NRL

Scurrah also said the 5000 dollars would be donated to charity and Hurrell would undergo some counselling on the use of social media, the report added.
