A high-level military talk between South Korea and North Korea is underway at a North Korean facility in the truce village of Panmunjom.
The meeting, which began around 10 a.m. on Thursday, is held to discuss ways to ease tension in the Korean Peninsula and to implement the agreements reached at the inter-Korean summit (held in April), as per NHK World.
An official of the defence ministry, Major General Kim Do-gyun, is leading the South Korean delegation, while the North Korean team is headed by Korean People's Army Lieutenant General An Ik San.
The two sides are expected to hold dialogue between their defence ministers in order to avoid accidental military clashes in areas, along the maritime demarcation line.
Recovery of the remains of the fallen soldiers from the Korean War in the demilitarised zone would be a significant part of the discussion.
