Ousted England batsman Kevin Pietersen is still hoping for a return to international duty as he has said that he could yet make a comeback if England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) chairman Giles Clarke quits his post.
Pietersen's controversial autobiography finally went on general sale on Thursday after days of pre-publicity in which the South Africa-born batsman, England's leading all-time run-scorer, highlighted a bullying culture within the England dressing room.
Pietersen was also severely critical of the management methods of former England coach Andy Flower in his autobiography.
The former batsman has not given up hope and having previously focused much of his ire on Flower and several former teammates, Thursday saw Pietersen turn his attention to Clarke, Sport24 reported.
Pietersen questioned what would have to happen for him to be recalled by England, adding that clearly, the boss would have to go. He said that Clarke would have to go and he has been hearing that that could happen in the next few months.
The batsman said that if there is a change at the top, there is potential, but added that they would wait and see.
