Tournament organisers have revealed that sacked England batsman Kevin Pietersen is reportedly set to make his domestic Twenty20 Blast debut with county club Surrey against Essex on Friday.
A message published on T20 Blast's Twitter feed said that Pietersen has been named in the Surrey squad that is set for tournament action at the Oval on Friday.
According to Sport24, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) ended Pietersen international career this year after England's disastrous Ashes whitewash in Australia.
However, Pietersen had joked that he was hoping for a call-up when England announce their team for the first Test against Sri Lanka on Thursday.
Pietersen had tweeted that England selectors are meeting on Thursday and he is ready to go, adding that 'fancy' Lords next week where he is number 4 batter and will bowl off spin.
