Kris Kristofferson has joined the team of History channel's mini-series 'Texas Rising'.
The 77-year-old actor will portray the character of President Andrew Jackson in the eight-hour miniseries, the Hollywood Reporter reported
The show will depict the Texas Revolution story against the Mexico and the rise of the legendary Texas Rangers, the oldest law enforcement group in North America.
Leslie Greif, Thinkfactory CEO said that the iconic story and role really needed an American like Kristofferson who is able to command the screen and captivate audiences.
The mini-series will premier in 2015 and also includes Brendan Fraser, Ray Liotta, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Thomas Jane, Olivier Martinez, Chad Michael Murray, Michael Rapaport and Max Thieriot, among others in the cast.
