A clash broke out between members of the Kerala Students Union (KSU) and the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) in Alappuzha on Saturday.

Several people sustained injuries and many vehicles were damaged when the two groups clashed. Police restored to lathi-charge to disperse them.

The entire fiasco started when the KSU activists taking part in a rally allegedly destroyed the flag posts of the CPI(M) after which a group of DYFI activists barged into the venue that led to a clash.
