Addressing his Janviswas rally in Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi's Amethi constituency, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kumar Vishwas on Sunday said he will not have a dinner at a Dalits house and let TV crews cover it.

"They call me a Joker. Joker is a good man, and he does not sell the country. He doesn't eat coal," said Vishwas

"They sent thugs, waved black flags and threw eggs at me. But you tell me... I will come alone, do what you want. If violence makes the situation any better, I will come to you," he added.

Taking a dig at Rahul, Vishwas said, "I will not go to a Dalits house and have dinner, and then call TV crews to cover it. When you sit down to eat, you should think whether a Dalit has had his meal or not."

He also questioned Congress Party president Sonia Gandhi's frequent trips to the U.S. for which she cites medical reasons.

"Sonia Gandhi, you keep going abroad for treatment. Don't you trust people in your own country? If you can't trust the 'sons' of your own country, how can I trust your son," he said.

Former TV journalist Ashutosh, who on Saturday joined the AAP, also addressed the people.

"Since my childhood days, I had a bad image about politics. In politics, a person becomes a voter for the politicians. There is no welfare of people and the society. Instead there is welfare of people's pocket. The size of their cars and bungalows increases in the same as their arrogance increases. These people consider themselves apart from the rest of the country. That's why I refrained from such politics," he said.

"But we have to get into this politics to change the basis of democracy. And we have to fight till we achieve this change. That's why I have joined politics after doing journalism for years. I will go to people. I also appeal to the people to be part of this revolution," he added.

Earlier today, several Muslims, who claimed to be hurt by comments made by Vishwas, protested, burnt effigies and showed black flags to Vishwas.

Vishwas is planning to contest elections from Amethi constituency, which has been a Congress stronghold in the past and from where Rahul Gandhi ix expected to contest for the Lok Sabha elections.
