Experienced seamer Kyle Mills will captain New Zealand on their tour to Sri Lanka from November 10, according to reports.

According to The New Zealand Herald, it will be 34-year-old Mills' first experience as captain in his 154 ODIs.

Mills replaces the injured Kane Williamson, who was to lead New Zealand on the limited-overs tour in the absence of regular skipper Brendon McCullum, according to the report.

Both McCullum and senior batsman Ross Taylor are sitting out the tour, the report mentioned.

In addition, Canterbury all-rounder Rob Nicol is recalled to replace Williamson, who fractured a thumb in the first ODI loss to Bangladesh this week, while his provincial team mate Andrew Ellis comes in for Ian Butler, who has had to pull out due to a back injury, the report said.

Kyle Mills (c), Hamish Rutherford, Anton Devcich, Luke Ronchi, Neil Broom (for final ODI and both T20s), Grant Elliott, Corey Anderson, Tom Latham, Colin Munro, Andrew Ellis, Jimmy Neesham, Nathan McCullum, Adam Milne, Mitchell McClenaghan.
