Lady Gaga has joined hands with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo to get a bill passed that will help fight sexual assault in college campuses in the city.
The 'Applause' singer wrote an opinion letter along with the 57-year-old governor and urged to introduce new policies extending the responsibility of public campuses in the New York area to protect their students from sexual assault, before the New York State legislative year ends next week, Contactmusic has reported.
The 29-year-old pop-singer mentioned in the letter that every young men and women head off to colleges dreaming of bright futures, but unfortunately, thousands of students' dream turns into a nightmare because of the unacceptable epidemic of sexual violence that is currently plaguing colleges and universities.
Cuomo introduced this bill back in February and launched the campaign 'Enough Is Enough' to raise awareness against sexual assault.
Notably, Gaga previously revealed in an interview that she had been the victim of a sexual assault by a producer when she was 19.
