Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah on Wednesday alleged that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav are using the backward classes reservations ploy to divert discourse on real issues affecting Bihar before polls.
"Lalu and Nitish are trying to divert the election. Since the Constitution was drafted and formalised, the Bharatiya Janata Party has been a supporter of reservation. Lalu is trying to get media attention by speaking rubbish," Shah said at a party rally here.
"Lalu ji is saying that if the BJP comes to power here, then, they will remove reservation. Don't follow what he says. Lalu ji is telling all of you a white lie. The BJP is a supporter of reservation and we don't want any change of it," he added.
