Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has said that he believes the huge strides made on and off the pitch in female football means that mixed-sex professional teams is increasingly probable in the future.

According to Metro.co.uk, Lampard was speaking on ITV's Loose Women show, where he was promoting his new children's book.

Asked if he thought a woman could ever feature in a men's squad, the 35-year-old responded that he does not see a reason as to why not because how the game had developed in women's football in the last five to ten years had been amazing.

He added that in the past there were dinosaurs in the men's dressing room and it was all their game, but now they appreciated that there was a lot of skill in the women's game.
