Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will pay a four-day visit to China beginning on April 6 at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hong Lei confirmed about the official visit at a press briefing yesterday.

"We commend the Sri Lankan Government's positive policies towards China and are ready to jointly consolidate the traditional friendship, and deepen pragmatic cooperation through this visit, pushing the China-Sri Lanka strategic cooperative partnership to new heights," Xinhua quoted Hong as saying.

Hong added that the Chinese leaders would meet and hold talks with Wickremesinghe and exchange opinions on bilateral relations and issues of common concern.
