Lara Bingle has shed light on the demise on her relationship with Aussie cricketer Michael Clarke, claiming that ending her engagement with him was the best thing she ever did.

During an interview with Sunday Style magazine, the fashion model said that she wanted more for herself than to live Clarke's dream and just be his wife and supporter, News.com.au reported.

The 26-year-old socialite said that she was happy about the fact that she left Clarke because she got to experience different opportunities and make a name for herself.

Bingle, who was highly criticized during her relationship with Clarke and also after she returned his engagement ring, said that the public negativity was not fair on her and she has learnt that it is best to keep quiet and let it ride its course even though it affects her emotionally.

She asserted that she never saw herself walking down an aisle because she was 19 when she got engaged.

Bingle said that she is glad that she has been honest and true to herself throughout the whole experience.

She added that she and Clarke are still friends, but he needs to loosen up a little bit.
