Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said the large crowds attending his Krishna Nagar rally would let the BJP know that his party will win the constituency with a huge margin in the upcoming Delhi elections.
"You have come here in large numbers; this will let the BJP know that from Krishna Nagar AAP is winning this time with a huge margin. On one hand the AAP is a ray of hope, on the other we get news that workers outside BJP office are fighting over ticket distribution," Kejriwal said at a rally here.
The former chief minister of Delhi added that while the BJP performed well in Haryana, Jharkhand and Maharashtra, they have reached a hurdle in Delhi.
"The BJP wouldn't have secured a single vote if it had announced before the elections that it would focus on issues like religious conversion and banning jeans for women instead of development," he added.
Kejriwal also took on Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying, "I thought the Prime Minister would speak about Delhi's development in his rally here but he only abused me."
The AAP chief also reiterated the promises his party has made towards the people of Delhi, including special emphasis on security of women and reducing inflation and electricity bills.
Earlier today, Kejriwal had invited BJP's chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi for a public debate, after congratulating her for being nominated as the BJP's chief ministerial candidate for the Delhi polls. He also requested Bedi to unblock him from her Twitter account.
Both Kejriwal and Bedi were part of the anti-corruption movement led by activist Anna Hazare before the AAP chief decided to form his own political party.
Bedi was named as BJP's chief ministerial candidate on Monday night and will be fielded from Krishna Nagar seat in Delhi while Kejriwal will contest Delhi from the New Delhi constituency.
The elections for the 70-member Delhi Assembly will be held in a single phase on February 7, with the counting of votes set to take place on February 10.
